Autumn brings the rich colours of turning leaves in beech woods across the Forest. It is the time of the seasonal pony round ups or drifts and sales at Beaulieu Road. Pigs are turned out to gather the crop of acorns, and the ponies put on their thick coats ready for the coming winter.
Set just a mile from the coast of the Solent, Old Stables enjoys a mild climate, with winter frosts and snow an unusual sight for both people and animals.
